Privacy Policy

GIFT MEMORY ("GiftMemory," "we," "us") operates giftmemoryapp.com and the GiftMemory application (the "Service"). This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

1. Information we collect

• Account information: name, email address, password.
• Book content: photos, written messages/letters, and video messages that you or your invited contributors upload.
• Contributor contact information: the name, email address, and/or mobile phone number that a book owner provides to invite someone to contribute.
• Order & payment information: shipping address and order details; payments are processed by Stripe — we do not store full card numbers.
• Usage and device data: log data, device/browser information, and cookies used to operate and secure the Service.

2. How we use information

To create and deliver memory books; to send invitations and reminders to contributors (text reminders are capped at three per invitation — see Section 3); to process and fulfill print orders; to provide customer support; to secure and improve the Service; and to comply with law.

3. SMS / text messaging

If you provide a mobile number, or a book owner provides yours to invite you to contribute, we may send transactional text messages — a consent request, then (only if you reply YES) your contribution invitation and at most three reminder texts for that invitation — via our messaging provider, Twilio.

• Consent: Book owners confirm they have permission to invite the people whose numbers they enter. Recipients opt in by replying YES before any invitation link is sent, and can opt out at any time.
• Frequency: Message frequency varies (a one-time consent request, one invitation after you reply YES, and at most three reminder texts per invitation).
• Cost: Message and data rates may apply.
• Opt-out / help: Reply STOP to unsubscribe; reply HELP for help, or contact support@giftmemoryapp.com.
• No sharing of mobile opt-in data: No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third parties.

4. How we share information

We share information only with service providers that operate the Service on our behalf, under contract — including a payment processor, an SMS messaging provider, print-fulfillment partners, cloud hosting and content-delivery providers, and an email-delivery provider. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect rights and safety. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. As stated above, text-messaging opt-in data and consent are never shared with third parties.

5. Advertising measurement

On certain campaign pages (such as our podcast landing page), we use a measurement pixel from our advertising partner AudioGo (AdsWizz) to count page visits and understand whether their audio ads bring visitors to our site. This pixel reports that a visit occurred; it is used for ad measurement only. Where required by law (for example, in the EEA, UK, and Switzerland), the pixel loads only after you accept it in the consent banner, and you can change or withdraw that choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link on those pages.

6. Data retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service and as required by law. Book content and digital keepsakes follow the retention periods described in the Service.

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards (including encryption in transit) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

8. Your choices and rights

You may access, update, or delete your account information, and request deletion of your content, by contacting support@giftmemoryapp.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws.

Depending on your state of residence (for example, California, Virginia, Colorado, or Connecticut), you may have the right to:

• Access: confirm whether we process your personal information and request a copy of it.
• Correct: request that we fix inaccurate personal information.
• Delete: request that we delete your personal information.
• Portability: request a portable copy of the information you provided to us.
• Opt out: opt out of any sale of personal information or sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising — though, as noted above, we do not sell or share your personal information for those purposes.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@giftmemoryapp.com. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights. You may also have the right to appeal a decision we make about your request, or to submit a complaint to your state's attorney general.

9. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

10. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the revised version with a new effective date.
